Is is about a million degrees here…. Our cats are laid out a mile long on the cool kitchen floor tiles, and I,m melting…. On the positive side Great British Bakeoff starts tonight and so does a new series Chronicals of Nadiya – I can wait…. 🎂🍰🎪
Tonight’s gastronomic delight’s will be Jacket Potatoes with Prawn mayo and salad…
For dessert, I am flashing back to the ’70’s for some retro Butterscotch Angel Delight 😎
There are 3 of us for dinner tonight, so, I stick 3 decent sized spuds in the microwave for 12 minutes, then into the oven for a half hour, I like my potatoes crispy skinned, but if you don’t, micro for a few minutes more and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
Unfortunately I couldn’t motivate Hubby to go Prawning again today, so freezer stash prawns will have to do 🤓 I mix a big blob of mayo, a squirt of ketchup, a shake of Tabasco and of Worcestershire, a squeeze of lemon juice and a shake of salt and pepper, mix together and a Maryrose style sauce appears 🍤
I have some pea shoot and watercress salad (Aldi) a blob of butter in the cut spud and spoon over the Prawny loveliness ….. Might even have a glass of wine whilst I watch GBBO and Chronicles of Nadiya 😇 – Bliss….
