Okay, so not exactly Game of Thrones, but it is distinctly cooler this weekend and very wet….
I am craving comfort food, and the only thing that will ‘hit the spot’ is Bangers and Mash… That’s Sausages and Mash for those of you not of these shores 😋
I oven cook a dozen sausages, any left overs will be used in lunch boxes – I use the Thermomix to steam the potatoes, then the Kitchen Aid to beat them with butter, salt and pepper – appears to be a lot of appliances to make mash, but it is very good mash and it’s Sunday, a bit of extra time to indulge yourself…
The most important component of this meal is the onion gravy, finely sliced onion, frys in the Thermomix with a blob of veg oil, and cook on speed 1 reverse, heat 100 for 3 mins, then add a litre of water and cook on varoma whilst the spuds cook, then and ‘hold on to your hats’ I add gravy powder 😱🤐😩😫 I know, I should be taken to the culinary naughty step… But it tastes good and there is no proper stock to make ‘proper’ gravy….
Pudding will be Homemade ( and homegrown) Apple crumble and double cream.
