After my splurge on dinner last night, I thought I should be looking to redress the balance. Time to free the frozen treasure….
A couple of weeks ago, we had Roast Pork, the left overs went into the freezer, I also have Yorkshire Pudding, Parsnips, peas and the Cauli Cheese from Thursday’s dinner in there, so, using a ‘fresh’ new potato’s – Bingo….. A meal from leftovers 😇
I will cook a whole bag of new potatoes to use tomorrow night too, prior preparation and all that….
I want to do some baking too – still have an orange left, so the Orange cake will be done again, 2 dodgy banana’s for Banana cake, and a Jamacian style ginger cake – these are for work, it’s my turn to provide ‘treats’🙄
I’ve already given you the recipes for the Orange Cake and Ginger Cake recipes in previous posts, but the Banana Cake is a good one, and you can add things like Cinnamon or Walnuts etc to jazz it up, but I went basic on this one, using this recipe – http://retromummy.com/2015/09/11/best-ever-banana-bread/ It’s really light and fluffy and all of these cakes can be sliced and frozen, so you could take a piece at a time for packed lunches etc 😇
