The weather is significantly cooler, the wood burner is at full tilt keeping us snug.
I should be making something Rib sticking, but, post Christmas, I am still craving Vegetables.
I have mentioned my frozen fish haul earlier this week, as part of the 3 packs for £10, I got a pack of 4 Tuna steaks, so tonight it will be Marinated Tuna Steak on a bed of Aldi stirfry Veg and ‘ready to wok’ noodles 🤗
I started by cutting some root ginger into ‘matchsticks’, and slicing some spring onions and a clove of garlic.
I then lightly oiled 2 pieces of baking foil,
and sat 2 frozen Tuna steaks on each.
Then in a bowl mix a good glug of soy sauce and an equal amount of sweet chilli sauce, and a the juice of half a lime, I make my own in the Thermomix, but shop bought is fine, add the sliced vegetables and leave to infuse.
then spoon over the tuna steaks
wrap in the foil to make a sealed parcel – pop them into a preheated oven (200)on an oven tray for approx 30 minutes.
5 minutes before then end of the cooking time heat some vegetable oil in a large Chefs pan or wok, and add your stirfry Veg.
I bought a prechopped pack from Aldi, as it is just the 2 of us this works our cheaper than buying it all separately, start frying then I add a tablespoon of hoisin sauce, I also added a splash of water to create steam and speed up the cooking.
quickly add the ready to wok noodles and mix through,
taste and season, but remember the Tuna will be very flavoursome and have juices too.
serve in a bowl with the tuna steak on top.
