Finger Lickin’ Garlic Prawns …

After my Frugal week, it’s time to splurge, I still have a couple of bits left from my Christmas stash- one of these items, are some Aldi beautiful huge tiger prawns. I had taken them out of their box and put into a freezer bag to save space.

Now, I believe that good produce doesn’t need too much doing to it, so fried in a Β simple garlic butter and lots of it πŸ€—

I make garlic butter and freeze it ready to use – I make it in the Thermomix 4 fat cloves of garlic peeled and whizzed at speed 4 for 30 seconds, add a whole pack of salted butter, roughly chopped and a pack of parsley and mix on speed 4 till blended, turn out and roll into a sausage in cling film, ready to slice and use.

Melt some butter in a shallow pan, heat till gently bubbling, add the huge prawns and cook through on both sides till pink and succulent- I have added a pinch of black pepper, the juice of half a lemon and a sprinkle of chopped Corriander, into a serving dish and eat as soon as they are cool enough to be picked up 😍

With some homemade bread to soak the juices I have made some Bagguettes 300ml warm water, a pack of yeast, 500g bread flour, a good kneed, leave for an hour to rise, then split the dough in half.

Each half flatten into a rectangle and roll into a baguette shape, Leave to rise again for half an hour then into a preheated oven for 40 mins with a splash of water in a traybat the bottom of the oven, till golden brown

  1. Scrummy! We’re having Schezuan prawns tomorrow, with spring rolls, prawn toast and crispy kale seaweed πŸ˜‹ You cook some tasty looking meals, and am I right that most of your ingredients come from Aldi?

    1. Thank you 😊 Your’s sound amazing, and yes most of my ingredients come from Aldi, as it’s my nearest shop – their produce is really good and a good price, so I’m happy to use their stuff πŸ€—
