Valentines gift from Hubby – my ‘Creation Station’

My lovely Hubby is a very clever chap, he runs a small building company and is a carpenter by trade. Sometimes it’s a bit like the tale of the Cobblers Children never having shoes, but, patience is a virtue, so they say….. Β I have been dropping hints that I needed an area to store my cooking and crafting stuff and he has made me one as an early Valentines prezzie 😁 Who needs flowers 😍

This is before.

A perfectly great unit, but the open shelving meant it wasn’t suitable for food storage, I have had this unit for a good 15 plus years.

Hubby moved it all out and one of his ‘lads’ repositioned the sockets (first fix).

Then the units arrived. I have chosen a large ‘double pan drawer’ with a hidden cutlery drawer, with pull out units each side, and a Wine cooler at the end.

Getting the units in.

The worktop is a temporary one, we are waiting for matching Corrian worktop shown in our kitchen below. Also, the ‘Sparky needs to second fix and test the sockets, he will do that over the weekend 😊

Excuse the clutter – work in progress

I have stored all of my ‘goodies’ in the drawers, but need to rejiggle and buy a couple more storage boxes, so it’s all tidy.

Top drawer – the cutlery insert for the ‘hidden’ drawer hasn’t arrived yet – that will hold all our herbs etc the main part hold my crafting bits – I make fudge and like to pack it in pretty boxes.

Bottom drawer – my Fudge ingredients and lock and lock bits (the extension lead is in there hiding from hubby, as he always ‘borrows’ them for work)

Pull out units.

Thank you to Hubby – Love you xximg_2173

Hi - I'm a 49 yo Mum to 3 kids - Jordan (23), Grace (21) and Max (19). And Wife to my lovely Husband, Dave and step mum to 4 fur babies, our cats Eric, Ernie, Cilla and Bobbie. We live on the beautiful Isle of Wight, Hubby and I were born here, and just love our home. As I hurtle towards 50, my life as a full time (working) parent is coming to an end, with my eldest 2 kids living their own lives, and my youngest who started University in September. I realised that this is not a time to be sad, but a time to take time to spend time on some of the things I enjoy doing - mainly cooking, crafting and creating Pinterest boards for said thing s :) This blog is just a way for me to record the next stages of our lives - I hope you enjoy my ramblings...

  1. Fab storage! We have the black version of your wine cooler too, so useful! Just one thing – do you need to find a new hiding place from hubby for the extension cable?!
