Youngest is still at home, making the most of the
hotel home comforts, he has made a special request – Burger and Chips….🙄 It’s also VAT time again, so something quick and Fuss Free is always a good idea.
I bought some Aldi Aberdeen Angus quarter pounder burgers, and I have some Brioche Buns in the freezer, just the chips and extras to cater for.
For the burger sauce it couldn’t be easier 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 of ketchup, a good sprinkle of garlic powder, 6 or so cornichon finely chopped, black pepper to taste
– stir together – done…
Griddle the burgers, till they are cooked through, I use the griddle to ‘toast’ the brioche buns too
I love that extra texture the crunch gives.
Pile it up high with salad, sauce, burger and thinly sliced cheese, with a topping of sliced cornichon and ‘pickled’ red onion – finely sliced onion with a couple of tablespoons of red wine vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar, tossed together and left for an hour before serving.
I have taken out the tiny fat fryer, and cooked up some French fries, and served with a splodge of coleslaw – who needs Golden Arches 😉
