Garden Planning…

This weekend is the start of our garden upgrade 🤗  After many weeks of discussion and planning we have finally agreed on a plan.

Like a lot of families, when the kids were younger, money is tighter, the main priorities for the garden is that  it is safe for the kids to play in, now it’s time for the grown ups… 😇

Hubby is a great builder, more specifically a carpenter/joiner, so I know that although it will take time, the final job will be lovely.

He removed an old shed, and it turns out that that area is a perfect suntrap from mid morning through to late evening

The rough guide to outdoor sofa

the plan is to build an ‘L’ shaped brick sofa there (Hubbies design’s – he’s not bad with a pencil either)

Decking plan – view to of rear of house

which will be replaced with a composite deck, leading onto the garden and a small pond – my only major demand was that the pond can be easily fitted with a metal grill if and when the kids have kids (😱)

A bit of a self indulgent post, but the theory is if it’s on here it will actually make it to the real thing 🤣🤣

Hi - I'm a 49 yo Mum to 3 kids - Jordan (23), Grace (21) and Max (19). And Wife to my lovely Husband, Dave and step mum to 4 fur babies, our cats Eric, Ernie, Cilla and Bobbie. We live on the beautiful Isle of Wight, Hubby and I were born here, and just love our home. As I hurtle towards 50, my life as a full time (working) parent is coming to an end, with my eldest 2 kids living their own lives, and my youngest who started University in September. I realised that this is not a time to be sad, but a time to take time to spend time on some of the things I enjoy doing - mainly cooking, crafting and creating Pinterest boards for said thing s :) This blog is just a way for me to record the next stages of our lives - I hope you enjoy my ramblings...

    1. Me too!! It will be lovely to have some ‘grown up’ seating, at the moment the garden is full of borrowed plastic chairs for next weeks Birthday bash 🙄 It will take a while, but it will be worth it 👍
